Fossil Information
Florida has a rich history that allows for many kinds of fossils
to be discovered from mammals of the Ice Age to
the sharks of the sea. The following links provide additional
information about fossils, Florida pre-history, and regulations.
Any fossil collecting on state owned lands in which vertebrate
fossils are found, aside from sharks teeth, require a
Fossil Permit.
More about Fossil Permits and how they can be obtained can be found
through this link to the
Florida Museum of Natural History .
